  • Ole Miss has Chad Kelly returning at quarterback. Outside of that, there isn’t a lot of playoff hope for the Rebels.

They are dealing with an NCAA investigation, losing some of the best defensive players in the nation, and a schedule that (outside of Wofford) might be one of the toughest in the country. That doesn’t bode well for things in Oxford when it comes to talking playoffs.

Five out of the first six games the Rebels play this year are against some of the most physical teams in the nation. By the time they travel to Death Valley to face LSU in late October, this could be one exhausted and beat up team.

If Ole Miss can get through October with one or zero losses, they have a legitimate shot at the playoffs, but that’s really hoping for a lot.
