Florida State’s QB picture

How many programs would love to win 10 games and have that considered a down year? That was the case for Jimbo Fisher’s team last year when they went 6-2 in the ACC and 10-3 overall.

They have questions at the quarterback position where incumbent Sean Maguire will look to hold off challenges from redshirt freshman Deondre Francois and freshman Malik Henry. The best bet is Maguire holds off their challenge into the season, but if he struggles, Fisher may have to plug in one of the freshmen.

But don’t expect whoever is under center to put up Jameis Winston-type numbers with Dalvin Cook in the backfield. The ACC’s best running back has a chance to eclipse the 2,000-yard mark this season and smash numerous rushing records if he can stay healthy for the course of the entire season.

Look for him to be in the Heisman conversation all year and to make 50-plus yard touchdowns the norm in Tallahassee this year.
