Urban Meyer endorses John Kasich for president (Video)
Ohio State football head coach Urban Meyer endorsed Ohio governor John Kasich for president.
In his effort to beat Donald Trump for the Republican nomination, Ohio governor John Kasich scored a significant endorsement that should go a long way toward his efforts in taking Tuesday’s Ohio primary.

Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer gave his official endorsement for the state’s governor on Thursday in a video saying he’s a supporter and wants him to “go win this darn thing.”
“As a true supporter of what you stand for—now that I really know what you stand for—we’d like to tell you we wish you guys the best,” Meyer said. “Go win this darn thing.”
This comes on the heels of Trump linking Meyer to his campaign even though Meyer gave no endorsement to Trump despite Trump’s assertions that the Buckeyes head coach said some nice things about him.
Former Ohio State head coach and current Youngstown State president Jim Tressel is also a Kasich supporter and plans to attend a town hall meeting in Ohio on Sunday to lend his support to the presidential candidate who is in a close battle with Trump.
No word on whether Meyer will be there or not, but getting his endorsement on Thursday should rally the troops to get out and vote for Kasich if they weren’t already planning to do so already.

As far as endorsements from college football coaches go, there may not be one that holds as much weight as Meyer’s who is the king of the state, unlike Nick Saban at Alabama or Jim Harbaugh at Michigan, for example, who share the state with a rival school.
