Big 12 Football Spring Preview: Biggest question for each team
Will Kenny ‘Trill’ Hill return and replace Trevone Boykin?
Remember when Kenny Hill threw for 511 yards and three touchdowns in Texas A&M’s season opener against South Carolina in 2014? He looked like he would be more than capable of replacing Johnny Manziel in the Aggies starting lineup when he led them to a 5-0 start with 17 touchdowns to two interceptions and entered the Heisman conversation.
However, Hill got a wake-up call in the SEC part of the schedule and lost three straight games while tossing six interceptions and lost his starting job to Kyle Allen after a 59-0 loss to Alabama and got in the doghouse of Kevin Sumlin.
Hill transferred and sat out at TCU last year per NCAA transfer rules and enters the spring as the clear favorite to win the job over Foster Sawyer and Grayson Muehlstein. He should be a natural fit to run Sonny Cumbie and Doug Meacham’s fast-paced attack and put up big numbers like Boykin did in this offense and like Hill did at the start of his Aggie career.
