What does life look like after Jared Goff?

Jared Goff was the heart and soul of this Golden Bear team. Add in his offensive weapons including Bryce Treggs, Kenny Lawler and Daniel Lasco at tailback. The combination of those four accounted for 75 percent of the Golden Bears offense in 2015, with arguably the best quarterback in the draft class and two extremely talented receivers.

Chase Forest figures to be the favorite to win the starting job, but one does not simply replicate Jared Goff, without two of the best receivers in the Pac-12 conference.

California improved each year with Goff under center and under the “Bear Raid” offense, it’s going to be hard to find the same amount of success in 2016 without him. The Golden Bears don’t exactly have a standout defense, making it very scary to think about life after Goff.

Their schedule doesn’t bode well for them either, especially if Texas can rebound, giving Cal all the trouble before heading into Pac-12 play. At most, for now, I would expect California to win about five games max next season.
