The Oklahoma Sooners added four-star receiver Charleston Rambo to the 2017 recruiting class for head coach Bob Stoops.

It has been a pretty good week for Oklahoma Sooners fans. The men’s basketball team advanced to the Final Four on Saturday with All-American Buddy Hield putting up another monstrous performance that could cement his legacy as one of the best athletes to come through Norman if they can win the title next Monday.

With all the hype surrounding Hield, Lon Kruger and the hoops team, you’d be forgiven if you missed the news on Easter Sunday about Bob Stoops and the defending Big 12 football champions having a big day on the recruiting trail.

After the commitment from four-star receiver Jalen Reagor, Oklahoma added another four-star receiver in Charleston Rambo (five-star name) to boost the Sooners up to the nation’s No. 2 recruiting class in the nation, according to the 247Sports Team Rankings.

The 6-2, 170-pound Rambo hails from Cedar Hill, Texas and picked Oklahoma over offers from Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri and Michigan State, among others.

He is the nation’s No. 163 overall recruit, No. 22 wide receiver and the No. 23 recruit in the state of Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He had 22 catches for 434 yards and five touchdowns last year as a junior.

On the heels of winning the Big 12 and advancing to the College Football Playoff last year, Oklahoma is off to a great start as Stoops and his staff put together their 2017 class. Rambo is the third-highest ranked commitment in the class, behind guard Tyrese Richardson and inside linebacker Levi Draper.
