Last Meeting: Nov. 7, 2015 (Louisville 41, Syracuse 17)
Why its intriguing: New Syracuse head coach Dino Babers in his first big conference game

Syracuse hasn’t exactly been a powerhouse of football since joining the ACC in 2013, but the hiring of former Bowling Green head coach Dino Babers points to some good things in the works for the Orange.

Babers took the Falcons and turned them into a legitimate top-tier FBS team, and he’s going to have a similar task in front of him when it comes to turning around this Syracuse program. What better way to start than by opening your conference slate against another ACC relative newcomer, Louisville.

The Carrier Dome will undoubtedly be rocking for this first big game of the Dino Babers era, but the first year head coach still may not have the horses to run with Bobby Petrino’s Cardinals. The pressure will be on Orange sophomore quarterback Eric Dungey – who had a fairly decent freshman year in 2015 – against an excellent Louisville secondary.

This game could have division ramifications later in the season if Syracuse pulls the upset.
