After winning the Heisman Trophy in 1989, Andre Ware was taken seventh overall in the 1990 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. Despite the lofty draft pick, Ware only started in one game that season, ending the season with 13 completions, 164 yards and two interceptions.

The next season, he did not start a single game. Ahead to the 1992 season, he started three games and had some decent success as a fill-in. He ended up going 2-1, completing 58 percent of his passes, throwing three touchdowns to four interceptions.

Still, Ware couldn’t make the right progressions to earn the starting role, despite the struggles at quarterback. He would go on to Detroit for one final season, starting just games, completing 20-of-45 passes, throwing one touchdown and two interceptions.

For being the seventh pick in the NFL Draft, he only started six games in his four-year career. He later went onto the CFL, where he ended a three-year career with 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Still, he remains in the College Football Hall of Fame.
