Pac-12 Football: Breakout player from every team for 2016
By Gabe Encinas
The Oregon State Beavers didn’t win a Pac-12 game last season and they will be without their starting quarterback from last season, going forward with a lot of youth. And with that youth comes a lot of question marks.
Joran Villamin is not one of those question marks. While there wasn’t a lot of love for the passing game last season with Beavers, Villamin becomes a sure-handed receiver. Finishing second on the team in receptions with 43, he led the team in receiving yards with 660 and five touchdowns as well.
The 6’5″ 230-pound receiver is a big body that can go up for the ball, no matter which quarterback will emerge from the Beaver battle. Oregon State has Victor Bolden to work the insides, which can take the focus off of Villamin for a bit, allowing him to come up with big time plays downfield.
