Jim Harbaugh and Donald Trump may have more in common than you think.

He’s loud, brash, outspoken, doesn’t give a crap about what you think about him and he’s fighting the establishment. The description could apply to both Michigan Wolverines head football coach and it can also apply to presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Harbaugh is not afraid to speak his mind, even if it comes back to bite him and results in a revolt against him. That’s what happened when the NCAA took away satellite camps last week.

Harbaugh was a vocal proponent of getting out and seeing high school talent all over the country, including in Florida where he took the Wolverines on spring break to conduct practices at IMG Academy.

When the NCAA took it away, he was upset and didn’t hold back with some critical remarks about the hypocrisy of the NCAA and their use of student-athlete. And took a shot at Ole Miss Rebels head coach Hugh Freeze over not wanting to work hard at satellite camps.

Freeze and Harbaugh are definitely not ‘kindred spirits’ but perhaps Harbaugh and Trump are kindred spirits.

When Harbaugh was told he’s being called the Trump of college football, he replied, via Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press, “The Thing I like about Donald Trump is he’s not afraid to fight the establishment.

They are fighting the establishment to be sure. They are polarizing figures. They say things that appear crazy and outlandish to some, but remain wildly popular no matter what.

Now, I wonder who Harbaugh is hoping wins the presidential election…
