After a successful 2015 season, Houston got lucky to keep head coach Tom Herman around. He will try to pull off another big season for what should be another talented Houston team.

It’s a unique feel Houston has going on this spring, and some unique twists have been thrown in. Just about everything shared on social media and other mediums is labeled with the “HTownTakeover” Hashtag.

Also, Herman gave awards for “Dudes of the Day.” These are given to players who stand out on the practice field for their work ethic and given for the purpose of keeping a competitive spirit in practice.

The team has participated in “circle drills” between the offense and defense. Early in the spring, two people dressed in rabbit costumes wildly competed in this event.

The last major unique aspects of Houston’s spring were Student Appreciation Day and Be a Pro Day. Students were allowed to mingle with the team on Student Appreciation Day and got an up-close experience with the players and coaches.

Houston’s spring game between the red and white is Saturday, April 16 at 2:00 local time. The price is $5.00 online beforehand and $10.00 at the door. You can watch the game on CSLive ($).
