Ex-Baylor DE Shawn Oakman accused of assault in 2013
Former Baylor Bears defensive end Shawn Oakman was reportedly accused of assaulting his girlfriend in 2013 and Baylor knew all about it and covered it up.
Shawn Oakman was arrested on sexual assault charges earlier this month and now a report from Alex Dunlap from Rivals.com alleged Oakman was accused of assaulting an ex-girlfriend in 2013.
The incident report from the Waco Police Department says Oakman and girlfriend got into an argument stemming from comments on Instagram. The report says Oakman grabbed the woman and shoved her into brick walls and cabinets and left her with bruises on her arms.
The report says Oakman was verbally abusive as well as physically abusive, calling the alleged victim a slut and a whore while yelling in her face and after she said he was hurting her, Oakman responded, “you think I care?”
As if all this wasn’t bad enough, Dunlap reports Baylor was aware of the assault accusation and did nothing about it and a review of emails will show proof.
If the Baylor coaches and administration knew about this, how could they let Oakman back on the field?
Oakman is the third football player in the last four years to be arrested on sexual assault charges. Tevin Elliott and Sam Ukwuachu were convicted of rape in January and August in separate trials. Baylor is subject to a Title IX investigation due to their handling of the Elliott case.

Oakman was projected to be a mid-round pick in the upcoming 2016 NFL Draft but with his sexual assault arrest earlier this month and reports about a 2013 assault, it’s becoming more likely he won’t even be drafted.
Meanwhile, Briles and the Baylor administration are in the spotlight as more and more comes out about how dirty this program is and how little they seem to respect women.
