20 College football teams as Prince songs

College football teams all seem to have their own personality, but what if each of these 20 teams were equated to a hit song by the late musical genius, Prince?

The artist known simply as Prince sadly left us last week, but he left a discography of songs that spoke for multiple generations. His performance at Super Bowl XLI was legendary, and his reputation as a baller on the hardwood was well-known (even for a guy of only 5’2).

Unfortunately we never really got to see Prince cross paths with the college football world much (although I’m sure Minnesota Golden Gophers fans probably saw him from time to time), but that doesn’t mean we can’t use our imaginations.

Titles, lyrics and musical styles of Prince were extremely varied, much like the 128 Division I college football programs dotted across the nation. So what if we tied some of that music into some of those programs. Some of the tie-ins are uncanny, to be honest.

As our little tribute to the late Prince Rogers Nelson, here are 20 college football programs and how we see them tied to songs, lyrics and music by the legendary performer and songwriter – with tongue firmly planted in cheek.

We tried to keep it family friendly…no easy task when working with some of the lyrics Prince gave us.
