College football national title odds are out and the Alabama Crimson Tide are the early betting favorites to repeat as national champions.

It’s still May, but the odds are out for the college football national title and to the surprise of no one, it’s the Alabama Crimson Tide coming in as the early betting favorite.

Nick Saban’s team loses Heisman Trophy winner, Derrick Henry, SEC Defensive Player of the Year Reggie Ragland, stud defensive tackles A’Shawn Robinson and Jarran Reed and quarterback Jake Coker, but Vegas believes they’ll reload as usual in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama leads with 6-1 odds, so that’s not much of a surprise, but what is a surprise is who comes in behind the Tide.

It’s none other than Jim Harbaugh and his Michigan Wolverines who are getting 7-1 odds. Michigan, like Alabama, has a question at quarterback, but Vegas is buying what Harbaugh is selling.

There is a three-way tie for third with last year’s runner-ups, the Clemson Tigers getting 8-1 odds along with fellow College Football Playoff participant, the Oklahoma Sooners and the 2014 national champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Florida State Seminoles come in next with 12-1 odds. Last week, the Golden Nugget projected Jimbo Fisher’s team for a tie for the most wins in college football with 10, so the jury is out about how great this year’s team will be.

The next bunch of teams, Baylor, LSU, Notre Dame and Tennessee are receiving 15-1 odds.

Lastly, Auburn, Georgia, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Stanford, and UCLA are getting 30-1 odds.

Does any of the odds jump out at you? If you’re looking to win some cash on a bet, going with the favorites isn’t the best strategy, so who are some of the teams with longer odds that you think will breakthrough and win the national championship?

That block of teams with 15-1 odds looks like a good place to start.
