Fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes can now drink beer as they watch Urban Meyer’s teams dominate Big Ten competition.
Ohio State football fans are among the best in the country. They always pack The Shoe for regular season games, travel for bowl games, annually have one of the biggest turnouts for their spring game and are all-around great supporters.
But if you go to an Ohio State game in Columbus this year you could see the Buckeye faithful even more enthusiastic than normal. There’s a very simple and scientific reason for that.
Ohio State will sell beer at football games beginning this season.
Ohio State joins a growing number of Power Five schools who are introducing beer and wine sales for football games this year.

Beer sales will pay for two new positions in the police department, which will likely be used toward making sure the stadium is safe and people who are overserved aren’t causing a ruckus.
Further, it’s odd that beer sales will fund a research project about drug and alcohol misuse prevention and recovery, but I suppose the people paying for their beer are paying it forward?
