The Ohio State Buckeyes lost a recruiting battle to the Pittsburgh Panthers who successfully flipped four-star running back Todd Sibley.

An Ohio State Buckeye commit is no longer committed to Urban Meyer and company. 2017 four-star running back Todd Sibley (Akron, OH. Archbishop Hoban) flipped his commitment on Wednesday from Ohio State to Pittsburgh.

This news was first reported by Ryan Bartow of 247Sports and Sibley announced it via his personal Twitter account.

Sibley is the No. 264 player in the 2017 class, No. 19 running back, and the No. 12 player in the state of Ohio per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Sibley received five offers in total from Akron, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio State, and Pittsburgh. Running backs coach Andre Powell was the primary recruiter for the Panthers.

Sibley began showing more interest in the Panthers in May as he took an unofficial visit there on the 13th. Then on June 4, he visited the Panthers again. He named Pittsburgh his leader on Wednesday before officially committing.

With this commitment, the ’17 Panther class is making a charge up the leaderboard. Sibley joins safety Paris Ford (Homestead, PA. Steel Valley) as the second four-star commitment in the class. That is good for No. 41 nationally and No. 7 in the ACC per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

A 2017 Under Armour All-American, Sibley possesses great speed and tremendous athleticism. He should be able to give the Panther offense a huge boost, especially considering that their offense relies heavily on the run. The commitment of Sibley should set up the offense in a position where they can make big plays at will and allow for a multifaceted attack.
