Georgia Recruiting: 4-star OT D’Antne Demery commits to Dawgs
The Georgia recruiting classes added some size and strength with offensive tackle D’Antne Demery committing to the Bulldogs on Wednesday.
Georgia received a major commitment as 2017 four-star offensive tackle D’Antne Demery (Brunswick. Brunswick. GA) committed to the program. This news was first reported by Kipp Adams of 247Sports.
Demery is the No. 101 player in the ’17 class, No. 16 offensive tackle, and the No. 13 player in the state of Georgia per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
He was recruited to Georgia by offensive line coach Sam Pittman and defensive assistant coach Glenn Schumann.
Amassing 11 offers in total, he had several from the SEC as Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee all extended offers in addition to Georgia.

Staying close to home as well as head coach Kirby Smart were two reasons why Demery decided to join the ‘Dawgs.
“I will be taking my talents to Georgia,” Demery said. “Georgia is a special place – it is my home state. I love my home state – I love Georgia. Kirby is a very, very, very great coach. Kirby is going to push you – he is never going to let you just flop around. He is always going to push you and give you that drive.”
For Georgia, this is their 11th commitment in the 2017 class and their eighth four-star commitment. That is good enough for No. 4 nationally and No. 2 in the SEC per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

Demery uses his 6-foot-5, 319-pound frame to his advantage. He extends his hands very well and does a nice job of gaining position on his man. He will be a tremendous asset to the Bulldogs, particularly when they run the football, and he has the potential to anchor their offensive line.
