The Notre Dame recruiting class added the commitment from four-star athlete Paulson Adebo from Texas on Monday.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have given their fans a reason to smile on a Monday. 2017 four-star athlete Paulson Adebo (Mansfield TX. Mansfield committed to the program. He made the announcement on Twitter earlier in the day.

Adebo is the No. 254 player in the ’17 class, No. 16 athlete, and No. 39 player in the state of Texas per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Amassing 20 offers in total, he was recruited to the program by offensive coordinator Mike Sanford and secondary coach Todd Lyght.  He was offered by the program on March 19, and was visited by members of the Notre Dame coaching staff on May 8.

With this commitment, the 2017 Irish class remains one of the strongest in the country. Boasting 13 commitments in total, the troop is ranked No. 6 nationally and is the top-ranked recruiting class among independent programs per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

One big deciding factor for Adebo in his commitment was how honest and straightforward the coaching staff was. “They’ve always kept it straight-forward with me,” Adebo said. “No nonsense with them. They don’t try to gas me up to much, just always letting me know where I stand with them.”

A two-way player in high school, Adebo excelled at the receiver position. In the 2015 season, his best one to date, he caught 41 passes for 730 yards and 11 touchdowns.

He would do very well at the receiver position for the Irish.

He breaks off the line and gains separation quickly to make the catch. Adebo would give Notre Dame a playmaker at the position as they look to establish themselves as a national power once again.
