It has been a busy last couple of months for Carter. At the beginning of May, he received a visit from Michigan State coach Harlon Barnett and received an offer following the visit.
He visited a Clemson Tigers camp on June 15 and it appeared as though Clemson would be the favorite. However, the Gators were the victors this time around.
With this commitment, the Gators now have five four-star commitments in their 2017 class, one that is ranked No. 26 nationally and No. 10 in the SEC per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

Carter notched 76 tackles, 42 of them solo, 7.5 sacks, and 12 hurries for Hillsborough last season, proving he can be a cataclysmic player. He is a tremendous edge rusher and that will benefit the Gators greatly. He is also not afraid to drop back in coverage if need be and confuse the offense and his multifaceted game will be a tremendous asset.
