SEC Twitter account got hacked, posted porn images (Photo)
The internet hackers of the world claimed another victim with the SEC Twitter account getting hacked and some unknown perpetrator posting racy images.
Last month the NFL Twitter account was hacked when someone posted a tweet saying NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was dead. He wasn’t dead and they were the latest victim of a hacking.
Now, the latest twitter hacking victim is the SEC official account that was hacked on Saturday morning and two racy images were posted on the account that boasts more than 300,000 followers.
The hack quickly drew the attention of SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey who sent out a tweet apologizing for the hack and to alert people that it measures were being taken to fix the issue.
Then, the SEC twitter account did the same, issuing an apology and saying they were hacked.
And SEC spokesperson Herb Vincent released a statement via ESPN, “We became aware of it when we saw some retweets,” SEC spokesman Herb Vincent said in a statement to ESPN. “The images were removed immediately, our password changed and we notified Twitter. We will, of course, continue to monitor the account closely today.”
You know when you hear cases of people claiming they were hacked after something controversial is posted on their account? 99 percent of the time they are just using that as an excuse for their poor judgment in sending the tweet in the first place.
