The expectation is Bristol Motor Speedway will be the site for Week 2 with the Tennessee Volunteers and Virginia Tech Hokies playing on the infield at the famous race track. The projected attendance for the game is expected to approach 150,000, which would set a new record for the most-attended game in college football history.
So may as well add Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Rece Davis and the rest of the GameDay crew to make it an even bigger event, right?
“We have a pretty good indication, pretty good feeling, that Kirk Herbstreit and his crew will be in town for College GameDay,” VP of customer service and guest experience at Bristol Motor Speedway Ben Trout said. “We feel like that’s going to happen. We’re still waiting on some official confirmation on that.”

“That week is going to be special,” Trout said. “That weekend is going to be incredible.”
“The Battle at Bristol” would be the first time since 2012 that Tennessee has played a game with GameDay in attendance and the first time since 2009 for Virginia Tech.
