These Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn t-shirts would be great… if they didn’t include the silhouette of the wrong state.

Alabama and Mississippi are often confused with each other since they look like mirror images, but that really doesn’t excuse this mistake.

There’s a big market for college football gear, and no market is more rabid than football-crazy Alabama, but we don’t think these t-shirts are going to go over well in the Yellowhammer State because the state on those shirts is the Hospitality State.

That’s right, someone put Auburn and Alabama logos and script over a silhouette of Mississippi.

WARNING: This tweet has some bad language.

How do you screw this up? Did you not think it was odd that the jpg outline you downloaded off Google Images to make your shirt was titled Mississippi.jpg?

Maybe this shirt was made overseas and the mixup occurred there, but someone along the way really should have noticed. They are hanging in a store that we have to assume is in Alabama, so at least one person in Alabama said “yep, those are awesome, Roll Tide!”

Or perhaps Alabama and Auburn are just following the example of Dan Mullen and laying claim to other states? THIS IS OUR STATE AND SO IS THAT ONE.

Perhaps this is a tribute to Alabama’s days as part of the Mississippi Territory? Nothing says smack like a shirt from 1798!

Ole Miss fans probably just see this as more evidence that Mississippi owns Alabama, if we were fans of the Black Bears we’d buy one of these quick. No matter what these are better than those “No Fear” shirts. We’d rather have the wrong state than one of these…

Either way, we know there’s a Crimson Tide fan walking around somewhere with a brand new state of Mississippi shirt on his back. Roll Tide y’all!
