No. 5 – Regular Rivalries With Georgia Tech, Boston College and Florida State

Everyone likes to fawn over the great Notre Dame rivalries with teams like Navy, Army, Michigan and USC. If the Irish joined the ACC they could still use four non-conference weeks to play some or all of those traditional rivals.

In addition, Notre Dame would be able to renew an old rivalry from the 1920s and 1970s against Georgia Tech on a regular basis…although at 28-6-1 in favor of the Irish, Georgia Tech might not be so keen on that idea.

We’d also get to see a regular meeting of Notre Dame vs. Boston College, because who doesn’t like to see rich Catholics beating up on each other?

But most importantly, two of the premier programs in the country – Notre Dame and Florida State – would possibly play every season or have the opportunity to meet in the ACC championship game more often than not.

Some of the other ACC matchups are infinitely more entertaining sounding than Fighting Irish games against UMass, Rice, Purdue and others.
