No. 1 – Money

What is it that makes this whole big college enterprise keep moving along? Money, money money.

This isn’t to say that Notre Dame is a poor school or that they are desperate for athletic funds, but why not get your piece of the pie like everyone else?

The ACC distributed a record $272 million to its 14 member institutions in 2015, and that number has continued to grow each year. Most of the top schools in the conference were given near or over $20 million.

Forbes ranked Notre Dame as the No. 2 most valuable football program in the nation in 2015 with a 2014 revenue of $86 million. Had the Irish been part of the ACC’s record payout, they more than likely would have topped Texas as the most valuable football program in the nation.

While Notre Dame does receive a different (and undisclosed) share of that payout, they should take advantage of the gravy train and hop on board for the full helping.
