Alabama QB Blake Barnett gets engaged to pro surfer (Photo)

Alabama quarterback Blake Barnett got engaged to pro surfer Madeline Peterson over the weekend.

Alabama quarterback Blake Barnett hasn’t won the starting job as the Crimson Tide’s quarterback yet, but he has won the starting job with pro surfer, Madeline Peterson.

There have been so many negative stories about college football players this offseason, it’s nice to be able to do a story on something wonderful happening to one of them.

Blake Barnett has been biding his time on the Alabama roster, and some think this year might be his big chance to get the starting job for the Tide. Now however it doesn’t matter if Blake gets the starting gig at Alabama, because he’s going to have a big year.

Blake shared the news of his engagement to pro surfer Madeline Peterson on Twitter.

Barnett and his new fiancee both seem to be excited about the news, as Madeline took to Instagram to spread the word.

Of course, we all know sports fans and exactly what will happen if Barnett struggles this year; Alabama fans will become Packers fans. The complaints about Blake and Madeline like Packers fans complain about Olivia Munn and Aaron Rodgers. Sure things can get in a players head, but the blaming a girlfriend or wife for a player’s struggles is just good ole sexism in sports.

Fortunately, the troglodytes probably won’t get that chance this year as Alabama looks to be once again loaded, and Barnett appears to be ready for his shot at the big job.

Blake and Madeline do look like they are supremely happy, so good for them!

Here’s hoping Blake and Madeline’s future is another made in Alabama dynasty! Roll Tide!
