Four-star offensive tackle Kai-Leon Herbet fought off zombies in a Walking Dead-themed announcement video to join the Michigan Wolverines.

On Wednesday, 2017 four-star offensive tackle Kai-Leon Herbert (Fort Lauderdale, FL. American Heritage) committed to the Michigan Wolverines.

Herbert is the No. 166 player in the ’17 class, No. 22 offensive tackle, and No. 32 player in the state of Florida per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

His announcement wasn’t your average tweet. Instead, Herbert fought off zombies and risked his life Walking Dead style in order to join Jim Harbaugh and company. Don’t believe me? See for yourself in the video produced by Bleacher Report.

With 25 offers in total, Illinois was the only other Big Ten team to extend him an offer. He was recruited to the Maize and Blue by offensive line coach Tim Drevino and Jedd Fisch, who doubles as the program’s wide receivers coach and offensive coordinator.

On the Wolverine front, he received an offer from the program last May. In December, he received a visit from head coach Jim Harbaugh who was visiting three other recruits that same day.

Harbaugh rang in 2016 by visiting Herbert on January 26. Herbert would receive visits and offers from other schools but Michigan remained firm and persistent in his recruitment.

On April 25, Fisch visited Herbert and that would be it for the Maize and Blue until the prospect visited a school camp on June 3.

Taking one more unofficial visit on June 17, that would be the final major move in his recruitment until the entertaining pledge this afternoon.

With this commitment, the Wolverines keep bringing in elite talent. With 18 total commitments, seven of them the four-star variety, the class ranks No. 4 nationally and No. 2 in the Big 10 per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

Herbert is very good at making lead blocks and keeping his feet square throughout the play. At 6-foot-5, 284 pounds, he will be able to provide strength and intimidation on the Wolverine offensive line.
