A new crop of kickers takes center stage as the Lou Groza Award watch list was announced Thursday.

Award watch lists are coming out this week, and Thursday was more of the same as the Lou Groza Award Watch List was announced.

The Lou Groza Award is given to the nation’s best placekicker. Last year, Ka’imi Fairbairn of UCLA won the award after having a tremendous season. He made 20-24 field goals and was a perfect 47-47 on extra points. In total, he tallied 107 points, the most he had in any season with the Bruins.

With Fairbairn now a Houston Texan, this marks the first time since 2012 that the award recipient is not returning to the collegiate gridiron

The list, in alphabetical order, is as follows:

My pick to win the award is Greg Huegel from Clemson. DeShaun Watson will lead a potent Tiger offense and that will leave for ample extra point opportunities and field goal tries for Clemson kicker.
