Georgia Recruiting: 4-star OG Andrew Thomas commits to Dawgs
Kirby Smart continued to work his recruiting magic on Sunday, landing a commitment from a very talented guard.
To put it mildly, today was a big day on the recruiting trail for the Georgia Bulldogs. With a commitment from Toneil Carter already in the bag, Georgia picked up another pledge from 2017 four-star offensive tackle Andrew Thomas (Pace Academy. Atlanta, GA.) This news was first reported by Kipp Adams of 247Sports.
Thomas is the No. 49 player in the 2017 class, No. 10 offensive tackle, and the No. 4 player in the state of Georgia per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Notching 29 offers in total, Thomas is considered one of the premiere guards in the class. He was recruited to Georgia by Offensive Line Coach Sam Pittman and Running Backs Coach Dell McGee.
Georgia was very involved with Thomas’ recruitment. They first extended him an offer on March 25, 2015 putting their feelers out for the guard. They then contacted him on September 1, taking the recruitment process to the next step.
2016 saw Thomas take a visit to Athens on February 13 and then another one on April 16. He then would take one more visit to the campus on May 29 before ending his recruitment process with a commitment on Sunday.
The 2017 Georgia class continues to be stockpiled with talent. With 15 overall commitments including 11 of the four-star variety, the class comes in at No. 2 nationally and No. 1 in the SEC per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

This is a great pickup for Georgia. He is very physical as soon as the ball is snapped and he is able to overpower his man with his size. He will help the Georgia offense put up tremendous numbers by using his size to create gaps for the running backs and providing extra protection for the quarterback.
