Preseason All-SEC Team: Fournette, Kelly and Alabama headline team

The preseason All-SEC team was released on Friday and Alabama led the way with the most selections.

The preseason SEC first-team offense was headlined by LSU running back Leonard Fournette and Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly, as the largest vote getters. Of the 331 media members who submitted their picks, Fournette gathered 329 votes, and Kelly had 321 votes. Kelly was the clear choice over Tennessee quarterback, Joshua Dobbs. It’s now up to Kelly to make sure he proves why he was the correct choice this season.

The rest of the first team offense:

-Georgia running back Nick Chubb

-Alabama wide Receiver Calvin Ridley

-Texas A&M receiver Christian Kirk

-Alabama tight end O.J. Howard

-Alabama OL Cam Robinson

-Arkansas OL Dan Skipper

-Georgia OL Greg Pyke

-Auburn OL Alex Kozan

-LSU center Ethan Pocic

Alabama leads the first-team offense with three members and LSU and Georgia tied with two.

The All-SEC first-team defense is lead by a trio of Alabama defenders; safety Eddie Jackson, linebacker Reuben Foster and defensive lineman Jonathan Allen.

-Auburn DL Carl Lawson

-Tennessee DL Derek Barnett

-LSU LB Kendell Beckwith

-Tennessee LB Jalen Reves-Maybin

-Florida DB Jalen Tabor

-LSU DB Tre’Davious White

-Tennessee DB Cameron Sutton

Alabama and Tennessee lead the defensive team with three selections each. Alabama leads the conference with six overall first-team selections.

With the end of SEC Media Days comes the wait for fall camps to begin throughout the south. The headline names of the All-SEC teams will be looking to make their marks in the league this year and help their respective teams reach the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta in December.
