Four-star running back Adarius Lemons commits to the Florida Gators.

Sunday was a day of commitments and for Florida, they were no exception to the trend. Adarius Lemons (Clearwater. Clearwater, FL) committed to the program, decommitng from North Carolina in the process. He made the announcement via Twitter and this news was first reported by Thomas Goldkamp of 247Sports.

Lemons is the No. 139 player in the 2017 class, No. 8 running back, and the No. 27 player in the state of Florida per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Receiving 24 offers in total, he was recruited to the Gators by Running Backs Coach Tim Skipper and Offensive Coordinator Doug Nussmeier.

On the Florida front, he was first offered by the program on August 28, 2015. Taking an unofficial visit to Gainesville on September 5, that would be all on the Gator front for 2015.

A quiet ‘15 made way for a busy 2016, as he attended the program’s Junior Day on January 30. With offers flying his way throughout the course of the year, things began to heat up for him on the Gator front this summer, when he camped at Florida on July 22, shortly after camping with the Tar Heels.

Today, the recruiting process for the Tar Heels suffered quite the turn of events as he elected to call Gainesville home.

With this commitment, the 2017 Gator troop is continuing to rise. With 12 commitments overall including six with the four-star distinction, that is good enough for No. 17 nationally and No. 7 in the SEC per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

Lemons had a tremendous year in 2015, rushing the ball 154 times for 1,032 yards and 11 touchdowns, proving to be a big part of the Clearwater offense. His speed and ability to see the field will be key assets for Florida.
