Speed is the name of the game for Vincent Jr. as LSU lands another talented defensive piece for the future.

The LSU Tigers are known for their defense and their history of developing talented cornerbacks. On Sunday, “DBU” added the next in a long line of high-profile defensive back recruits after receiving the commitment from 2017 four-star cornerback Kary Vincent Jr. (Point Arthur TX. Memorial).

Vincent is the No. 122 player in the ’17 class, No. 17 prospect, and the No. 18 cornerback in the state of Texas per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Notching 32 offers in total, he was recruited to the Tigers by Special Teams and Safeties Coach Bradley Dale Peveto as well as secondary coach Corey Raymond.

On the LSU front, he was offered by the program May 4, and although he would receive several offers in between, his interest in the Tigers never waned and that was clear today as he ended his recruitment with the commitment Sunday.

In what has been a tremendous month recruiting-wise for the Tigers, this pledge marks No. 17 for the Tigers. That is good enough for No. 4 nationally and No. 3 in the SEC per the 247Sports Team Rankings.

He tallied 51 tackles and five interceptions for Memorial last year, showing he is a force to be reckoned with.

What does Vincent bring to the program? He is speedy, and that may be an understatement. He is like lighting on a football field and because of this, he can match up well with wide receivers and give them headaches because of this. With many of the elite wide receivers in college football hailing from the SEC, he should be able to make an impact right away.
