The top quarterbacks in college football are separated by so little. This spot was a toss-up between DeShone Kizer and Luke Falk, but the stats speak for themselves.

From one Washington State star to another, Falk is one of the Pac-12’s elite gunslingers and the Cougars have a serious offensive threat which the conference should be aware of.

This was a tough one to pick. The No. 48 spot on the list was a toss-up between two solid quarterbacks: Patrick Mahomes of Texas Tech or Falk. It all came down to numbers. Falk just tallied a more impressive line as a sophomore in 2015 than Mahomes did even though the latter may have a stronger arm — he is a baseball pitcher.

Falk is also a much more accurate passer than Mahomes, completing about 69 percent of his passes in 2015 for 4,561 yards, 38 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions. Those kind of numbers are incredible for a sophomore, but Leach’s team is transforming into an offensive juggernaut.

There’s a reason to be excited about the future of Washington State and his name is Luke. With an elite target like Gabe Marks to throw to on a weekly basis, there’s a chance the Cougars could reach their highest win total since 2003 when they went 10-3.

In 10 out of 12 games last season, while missing one contest, Falk passed for over 300 yards. He threw at least two touchdown passes in 11 of 12 games and hit the four-touchdown mark in five games. He was really one of the most impressive passers in the nation.
