Ranking the 50 best college football players for 2016
It seems like USC always has those electric players who fit the style and the flash of Los Angeles, Calif. Reggie Bush wowed fans over a decade ago while the current state of the team boasts such electrifying players as Adoree’ Jackson and junior wide out JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Jackson is one of the top cornerbacks in the country, as named earlier on this list, while Smith-Schuster might just be the top receiver in college football.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound receiver doubled his numbers from his freshman to sophomore season and he looked to be a top NFL prospect. His stock keeps rising because of his ability to get open even against the toughest of defenders and make things happen after he catches the ball. He’s not just a possession receiver, he can move the chains will big-time yards after the catch.
As a true freshman, Smith-Schuster finished with 724 yards and five touchdowns on 54 receptions and then followed that up with an All-Pac-12 first-team performance of 1,454 yards and 10 touchdowns on 89 catches in 2015.
Although Cody Kessler is gone, Max Browne looks to be the future of the Trojans at the quarterback position and he might be even better at getting the ball to Smith-Schuster than his predecessor. A big year is in the works for the explosive junior wide out.
