Last on our countdown happens to be the best running back in college football. Although Leonard Fournette hasn’t yet led LSU to a national title or even a conference crown, the junior running back is prepared to have his best season yet.

Fournette helped Les Miles retain his job after the athletic department was fed up with the three and four-loss seasons. For other programs, those might be seen as successful years, but not for LSU.

The 2016 season will definitely be a championship or bust year for the Tigers as Fournette is back as a junior and plenty of elite defenders return as well — as well as some offensive talent at the receiver and quarterback positions.

Fournette started his career off with a bang, rushing for 1,034 yards and 10 touchdowns on 5.5 yards per carry while also catching seven passes for 127 yards.

As a sophomore, Fournette accumulated 1,953 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns on 6.5 yards per touch and added 253 receiving yards and another score. He’s going to be relied on even more in 2016 with the quarterback situation not the most secure.

Can Fournette lead the Tigers to the national title game and bring home a Heisman-like so many believe he can?
