Like a handful of guys on this list, Cameron Sutton had a chance to be an NFL draft pick after the 2015 season but decided to come back with some unfinished business to take care of. Sutton, though, was considered a potential first-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft but decided he wanted another run at a SEC title.

Tennessee hasn’t quite lived up to expectations over the past few years under Butch Jones, but the time might be coming — or so we’ve heard. With a guy like Sutton patrolling the defensive backfield, opposing quarterbacks are going to have a nightmare of a time passing the ball against the Volunteers.

Turning down millions of dollars to come back for a senior season to win a title might be crazy, but at the same time, it could be the smartest possible move. Every player has weaknesses in his game, and Sutton wants to correct those and improve his stock in the process before heading to the league.

Sutton’s numbers dipped a bit as a junior in 2015 because quarterbacks simply wouldn’t throw to his side of the field. He recorded 28 tackles and an interception with six pass break-ups after having a solid sophomore year in which he finished with 37 tackles, three picks, and 13 pass break-ups.

If there’s one guy on this list who I could see drastically rising up the ranks before the year is over, I think it’d definitely have to be Sutton. The lock-down cornerback might just be the best at his position in the country.
