Pitt Football reveals insanely awesome throwback uniforms

Pitt Football revealed some incredible throwback uniforms on Tuesday that it will wear for the Homecoming game on Saturday, Oct. 8.

Pitt Football is trending in the right direction. After hiring former Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi in 2015, the Panthers look like the future of the ACC.

The Panthers have a very historic past with nine claimed national titles and eight unclaimed ones — three since 1976. Pittsburgh was one of the most dominant football programs in college football in the early-to-mid 20th century, but it has had a very quiet past few decades.

Since joining the ACC in 2013, the Panthers have just two conference titles and zero national championships. Narduzzi is looking to bring back the success that the program had in the past while still moving forward.

On Tuesday, the program revealed that it will be wearing throwback uniforms to commemorate the past success. However, these throwbacks aren’t going to be a miss with the younger crowd like some have been for other programs, but Pitt’s have already been dubbed ‘fire’ by most college football fans.

Just take a look at what the Panthers will be putting forth as product on Oct. 8:

If this doesn’t make recruits want to jump on board immediately, I don’t know what will. Pitt knows how to peak the interest of young players, and this is probably the best way. New uniforms with an old flavor can be a swing and a miss or a home run, and these are the latter.
