We leap into the top fives teams on this list with a bit of a thud. While Nebraska certainly has churned out a lot of talent, they have one of the worst ratios of success/production vs draft pick of any school on the list.
Of the Cornhuskers 357 draft picks, only 35 were taken in the first round. Of those 35, only some of the names listed above could be considered having lived up to the potential of their pick. The rest either fizzled out quickly or just never even made the cut.
While Bob Brown was selected with the first overall pick by Denver in the AFL draft of 1964, he opted to join the NFL, taken with the second overall pick by Philadelphia, where he went on to a Pro Bowl career with the Eagles, Rams, and Raiders.
The Huskers biggest draft class was in 1975, when 12 were selected, including first-round bust Tom Ruud.
