Jim Harbaugh announced on the Rich Eisen Show that Tom Brady, Michael Jordan, Rich Eisen and Hank Aaron will serve as honorary captains for the Wolverines this season.

Those who feel sorry for New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady as he sits out the first four games of the 2016 NFL regular season, can be counted on one hand, or perhaps all within the state Massachusetts and the greater New England area.

Don’t feel bad for Brady. Although, he is not permitted have any contact with the New England Patriots. In terms of football, he will be making good use of his time.

Brady will serve as an honorary captain for the Michigan Wolverines when they take the field September 17th against Colorado, head coach Jim Harbaugh told Rich Eisen on Wednesday.

Harbaugh is bringing in celebrity guest speakers this season to serve as captains and also give a night-before pep talk. In Week 1, legendary basketball superstar Michael Jordan (whose Jordan brand dons the Michigan uniforms this season) will serve as an honorary captain. In Week 2, Rich Eisen, radio host and NFL network personality, will take on the duties. Eisen is an alum of Michigan.

Later this season against Illinois, baseball legend Hank Aaron will serve as the Michigan honorary captain.

Back to Brady though. Many people forget that Brady toiled on the bench for his first two seasons at Michigan. He was as far back as sixth on the depth chart at one point. Then came his break out season. Brady was the starter in 1997 for the Wolverines and was named captain his senior year in 1998.

Michigan plays its season opener this Saturday against Hawaii. The last two starting quarterbacks for the Wolverines to face Hawaii? Jim Harbaugh in 1986 and Tom Brady in 1998.

There you go. It all comes full circle.
