Georgia vs North Carolina live stream: Watch Bulldogs vs Tar Heels online
Here’s where to watch the North Carolina Tar Heels take on the Georgia Bulldogs live online.
The 2016 college football is finally upon us, and it is filled with one of the best opening weekends in NCAA history. From USC vs. Alabama, to Texas vs. Notre Dame, each and every game is geared up to be a thriller.
The Chic-Fil-A kickoff game features the #22 ranked Tar Heels and the #18 ranked Bulldogs in a top-25 battle as both teams look to open their 2016 campaign with a major victory.
The biggest story of this Week 1 matchup will be the return of Georgia running back, Nick Chubb. Before his season ending knee injury in 2015, Chubb was averaging 8.1 yards per carry and had 747 yards through five games.
Chubb will split carries with Brendan Douglas, but he isn’t expected to be held back from any playing time due to his knee. This is good news for Chubb, but bad news for the Tar Heel defense.
Georgia is also starting it’s 2016 season with a new head coach. Kirby Smart will be lead the Bulldogs for the first time as head coach. Coming from Nick Saban, Smart is expected to make his impact known early in his coaching career. He’s unknown to most of the college world, but should become a force in the NCAA sooner rather than later.
For North Carolina, their key to victory needs to be stopping Chubb and the Bulldog run game. If anyone watched UNC’s bowl game last season against Baylor, you’d know that their run defense is the weakest part of the team.
UNC defensive coordinator Gene Chizik made it clear this offseason that if the Tar Heels want to succeed this season then they need to fix their run defense.
North Carolina’s offense will put up big numbers this season. But if they have any hope of making the college football playoffs, they will need to improve on the other side of the ball. Their first test, one of the best runners in college football, is going to be their biggest of the season. They’ll need to start strong if they have any hope of claiming the ACC Coastal Division.
Either way, this is going to be one of, if not the best, game of opening weekend.
