Two of the top five teams in the nation dropped quite a bit in the standings in the LSU Tigers and Oklahoma Sooners. Both were upset by legitimate teams, however, so it’s not like we’re going to drop these prestigious schools out of the top 25.

The big question with this group of teams is how high the Houston Cougars can climb. The American conference team looked like a legitimate contender with a pretty dominant performance against the Sooners. Considering there’s no real competition on Houston’s schedule moving forward, is it too early to think that they can go 12-0? Only time will tell.

TCU drops a couple of spots after a sloppy win over South Dakota State. Sure, they’re an FCS powerhouse, but it’s still an FCS program.
