Former Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston got the Seminoles pumped up for the second half of Monday night’s game against Ole Miss with a fiery locker room speech.

Jameis Winston may be getting ready for his second season in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but that didn’t stop him from trying to get the Florida State Seminoles fired up on Monday night.

The former No. 1 overall pick and Heisman Trophy winner joined his former team on Monday night as they took on the Ole Miss Rebels. Winston could be seen on the sideline throughout the game.

Unfortunately, the Seminoles struggled mightily in the first half, going into the locker room down 28-13. Winston wasn’t having any of that, so he decided to give the Seminoles a piece of his mind with an intense speech in the locker room before the second half. As you can see in the Twitter video below, Winston had to remind the Seminoles that they’re still one of the most talented teams in the nation.

After halftime, the Seminoles looked like a completely different team. Florida State wound up scoring 33 unanswered points to pull off an impressive 45-34 comeback victory. Redshirt freshman quarterback Deondre Francois responded quite well, finishing the game going 33-for-52 through the air with 419 yards and two touchdowns along with another 59 yards on the ground. Maybe having the former Heisman Trophy winner in Winston on the sideline helped give Francois some extra motivation.

It’s tough to say whether or not Winston’s speech was the reason for the comeback, but you have to appreciate the former Florida State quarterback doing what he could to help out his former team.
