Lamar Jackson Has the Heisman Sewn Up If He Stays Healthy

I’m as impressed with Lamar Jackson as anyone. This kid has done absolutely everything right since taking over the quarterback position late last season. But let’s not let his gargantuan numbers so far this season cloud the fact that it was against two very, very weak defenses – Charlotte and Syracuse.

That’s not taking anything away from Jackson. He’s the real deal, and has a shot at lifting Louisville to a possible ACC title and a shot at the playoffs.

But before we start christening champions or prematurely handing out hardware, we should remember that Louisville is still yet to play Florida State, Clemson and Houston…not to mention Boston College, who has been known to bottle up the best quarterbacks in the conference from time to time.

There’s a lot of football to be played this season and a lot of Heisman moments to see. Jackson is firmly in the discussion, but far from a lock right now.
