The Houston Cougars made easy work of Lamar last week 42-0 despite sitting out quarterback Greg Ward Jr., who sat out due to a shoulder injury.

It looks like Ward Jr. will be good to go this week, although things seemed to be taken care of last week despite a 3 and a half hour lightning delay.

The Cougars saw a historic performance, however, in Ward Jr.’s absence. Backup quarterback Kyle Postma did not have the greatest day throwing the ball (14-25, 125 passing yards, 1 int.) but made up for it in the Cougars’ rushing attack.

Postma was one of three different Cougars players who rushed for over 100 yards for the first time since 1974. As a team, the Cougars rushed for 381 rushing yards.

The Cincinnati Bearcats enter Week 3 with a 2-0 record as well and looking to start their American Athletic Conference schedule in the win column.

The Bearcats offense has been led by quarterback Hayden Moore who has 510 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, and one interception on the young season.

Bearcats wide receiver Nate Cole leads the team with 12 catches and three receiving touchdowns. It has been a much better start on offense for Cole this season. He had one receiving touchdown all of last season.
