The Oregon Ducks paid tribute to fallen Nerbaskas Cornhuskers punter Sam Foltz by placing flowers at the 27-yard line for him.
It is an emotional season for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The football team lost their punter Sam Foltz this offseason when he was killed in a car accident. The team has been paying tribute to Foltz throughout the year, and opponents are even honoring him during their games.
Prior to Saturday’s game between Nebraska and the Oregon Ducks, the Pac-12 school paid tribute to Foltz. The Ducks brought out flowers which they placed on the 27 yard line. Foltz wore number 27 on his jersey, so that was how Oregon thought they’d honor him.
Despite it being such a big game for both schools, that was an incredibly display of sportsmanship and sympathy from the Ducks football team. You can see the photo of the heartfelt tribute to the fallen punter via Twitter below.
Foltz was killed in a car accident alongside former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler back in July after heading home from a kicking clinic. LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye was also in the car and was injured during the accident.

Nebraska has been playing for Foltz this season, and so far they’ve honored him by going 2-0 with two convincing wins. However, it will be a tough test today against the Oregon Ducks, who are ranked No. 22 in the nation.
The Cornhuskers will take on the Ducks at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC to see which of these 2-0 teams can stay undefeated early on this season.
