Three weeks into the season ,the Atlantic Coast Conference still has five undefeated teams. Four ACC teams are ranked in the AP Top 25. Here are this week’s power rankings with some movement in the Top 5.

The Atlantic Coast Conference is off to a fast start just three weeks into the season. The Louisville Cardinals have dethroned the Florida State Seminoles from the top spot while Miami is slowly creeping up as an ACC title contender.

The Virginia Cavaliers are still winless this season under new head coach Bronco Mendenhall. The Cavaliers led for much of the game before squandering the lead in the fourth quarter.

On paper, the Cavaliers did everything right. They outgained the UConn Huskies 381-277 in total offensive yards. They registered 21 first downs on offense and forced two turnovers on defense.

But the Cavaliers committed eight penalties in the game for 73 yards. They also gave up 10 points in the fourth quarter. If they want to win, these things can’t happen.

Its unclear where to begin rebuilding with this team. Their defense has given up more points than the offense has produced.

Quarterback play has been decent under Kurt Benkert but the Cavaliers lack a solid playmaker on offense. Their 123.7 rushing yards per game is currently last place in the ACC.

Next Week: Central Michigan

The Central Michigan Chippewas have already ruined one team’s season (Oklahoma State) and are off to a 3-0 start. If Virginia can pull this victory off, color me impressed. Virginia has beaten Central Michigan in their lone meeting 55-21 back in 1996.
