The Syracuse Orange looked like they were on to something in Week 1 with their 33-7 season opening victory over Colgate. But things seem to have bottomed out the past two weeks for head coach Dino Babers and the Orange.

The Orange jumped out to a 17-0 in the first quarter but gave up 28 points in the second quarter. The Syracuse offense had three turnovers, quarterback Eric Dungey threw two interceptions.

The Orange defense gave up over 200 rushing yards for the second straight week as well. The South Florida Bulls rushed for 239 yards and four touchdowns in the game.

Syracuse scored three points after the first quarter. If the Orange want to be serious contenders in the ACC, they’ll need to start being consistent on both sides of the ball.

Their defense is giving up 38 points per game, good for 113th in the nation.

Next Week: @UConn

The Syracuse Orange have the UConn Huskies on the schedule and will need to bounce back sooner rather than later. Unfortunately for the Orange, they’ve won one game in their last six meetings.
