What does the projected College Football Playoff top four look like after Week 3’s action?

The newest AP Poll was released on Sunday afternoon, but we are still weeks away from the release of the only rankings that truly matter: the College Football Playoff rankings. Still, it’s never too early to predict who would be at the top of that poll if it were released on Monday.

A handful of teams stood out in Week 3 with big road wins, wins over ranked opponents and just comeback victories, but only four can top the rankings.

Some teams made some major strides toward playoff relevancy in Week 3 including Louisville, Michigan State, Ohio State and Stanford. Others took major steps back and may have even seen their 2016 seasons ended early, in terms of title hopes, after a second loss. Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Ole Miss and USC all suffered loss No. 2 and likely ended any hope of a playoff run.

Week 3 featured some of the best games of the season as Alabama narrowly avoided a major upset at the hands of Ole Miss on the road but the come-from-behind victory gave the Crimson Tide a huge boost in the SEC race. Whoever comes out of the SEC has a great chance to win the national title, just ask Nick Saban.

The Week 4 College Football Playoff projections might be a little different than the previous version because of some losses near the top of the polls as well as a certain team making a gigantic climb.
