6. LSU (2-1)

Last week rank: 9

Week 3 result: 23-20 win against Mississippi.

Is Danny Etling the answer at quarterback for LSU? The answer, for now, appears to be a yes.

Etling has given the Tiger offense a spark, one that Brandon Harris was not able to give the team in the first two games of the season. Surprisingly, the LSU defense still appears to be somewhat vulnerable. Mississippi State isn’t exactly one of the best offenses in the SEC and yet they made it a game and hung with the Tigers throughout the entire football game. When the Tigers face a more potent offense, which they will in Texas A&M, Alabama and Ole Miss, the defense will have to be better or the Tigers will struggle.

It was great to see Leonard Fournette back on the field, which no doubt gave a spark to the offense.

Next game: September 24, at Auburn, 6:00pm ET ESPN
