18. South Carolina Gamecocks

Average Home Attendance 2006-2015: 78,840 (98.2% of capacity)
Average Season Winning Percentage: .616
Seasons Under 90% Capacity: 0
Seasons Over 100% Capacity: 3

Over the past decade it certainly hasn’t hurt that South Carolina rose to prominence under Steve Spurrier, but Gamecocks fans have also shown up strong in those years where their team has finished around .500. Even in 2015, when the team slipped to a 3-9 finish as Spurrier walked away from coaching at midseason, nearly 79,000 fans per game were still showing up at 80,250-seat Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.

Three times in the past decade the Gamecocks have exceeded 100 percent capacity over the course of the season. South Carolina has averaged more than 75,000 per game during even their worst seasons since 2006. South Carolina has also enjoyed major traveling support to bowl games, selling out its ticket allotments quickly and regularly even as other major schools are having trouble sustaining interest in road trips to exhibition games.

While they have yet to win the SEC since joining the league in 1992, South Carolina has been regularly competitive in the East Division. If Will Muschamp cannot deliver some more success to the Gamecocks, the fans will make sure the administration finds someone who can.
