Going into Thursday night’s game against Georgia Tech, the thought of last year’s Yellow Jackets victory over Florida State at home had to come to mind for Clemson. The Seminoles came in as a heavy favorite and left with their tails between their legs after a blocked field goal with no time left gave Georgia Tech the upset victory.

DeShaun Watson is trying to ensure that his Tigers remain atop the conference. Falling from a No. 2 ranking to start the year because of a close contest against Troy, Clemson has the pieces in place who could help make another playoff run.

Watson is playing well this season, but his 56 percent completion rate and 7-to-3 touchdown-to-interception ratio isn’t ideal. Mike Williams has become his favorite target this season, but the team is loaded with offensive weapons.

Another year of Paul Johnson’s elite rushing attack awaits the Tigers in Atlanta, though. Georgia Tech is 3-0 this season thanks to 257 yards per game on the ground. Justin Thomas is a dual-threat quarterback who is more of a threat to run the ball than pass it, and he leads the team with 169 yards and a score.
